Today's the Day!

Alex graduates high school this morning at 9 a.m. at the Orleans Casino in Vegas. After a delay and a change of plans, Dan finally made it out of Omaha yesterday around 5:30 (he was supposed to leave around 3. DJ left the day prior with no problems). But, he got there safely, picked up the kids and took them out to dinner at Chilli's. He said they all had a great time and that it is good to see them! Today he's meeting everyone over at the casino for the graduation, then there's lunch at Joe's Crab Shack and spending the day with the kiddos. I did send him with my camera, so hopefully once he's home and rested he can catch you up on how things went in Vegas.

I had a busy day after dropping him off at the airport. Nap, haircut and then a goodbye dinner for one of the women in my book club. Her husband got transferred to Northern California so they're leaving in about a month or so. She's real sad to leave Omaha, the neighborhoods and schools, and I don't blame her, but hopefully they find a nice community in California. We went to Kona Grill, which was FANTASTIC until the power went out about 5 minutes before dinner arrived. Needless to say it got a little warm in the restaurant, but our food made it out and we enjoyed a nice evening.

After that the ladies still wanted to spend time together, so we headed over to Brix, a local wine shop that also offers tastings. We only stayed a short time, then Kelly and I hit the road. It was a LATE night, I don't think I got to bed until almost 11. But it was worth staying up, Kelly brought me down some adorable sports themed wall decorations and pillows she used for her son Cody's bedroom and a HUGE sports rug! I can't wait to unroll it and see what it looks like... I was just too tired last night.

This morning I solo'd the show... it went WAY better than I had even hoped... but boy is it ever more fun to work with Dan. Good thing he's back tomorrow and in time for Monday's show... it's just weird to be talking with no one else in the room.
