A Happy Graduation!

Dan made it home safe and sound from Vegas... and as promised he took several pictures and is going to take over blogging now.

Here I am :-) My trip to Las Vegas was quick and eventful! I am so proud of Alex... HE DID IT! Not only did he graduate (with honors) from High School, he also received a full ride ROTC scholarship to UNLV! If I could re-enlist in the Army for one day, just to salute him when he becomes an officer, I would do it!

Proud Papa and son...

We went to Joe's Crabshack to celebrate and the staff made Alex dress up in dress and do the hula hoop thing...

and the family picture. I just wish Michelle could have made the trip...

speakin of Michelle...

32 weeks -- 8 left to go!

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, he'll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb. He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). His skin is becoming soft and smooth as he plumps up in preparation for birth.

I'm still feeling great and feeling him move more and more! I just love the flutters and kicks and the bonding it creates. Dan gets to feel kicks quite a bit these days! Our last doctor's appointment went very well and the baby was measuring right on target with a good, strong heart beat. I've kept up with my prenatal yoga and healthy eating, so I feel like that's helping to keep me more comfortable in my pregnancy. Some days I have so much energy I actually do a little jog up the stairs. Dan is going on walks with me around our neighborhood park and we're also lifting weights at our gym. And, I just bought a maternity swim suit, so hopefully there will be several days ahead of pool time! I'm still loving being pregnant, it's only been recently that I've started to fantasize about wearing my "regular" clothes again, but I'm still loving he maternity clothes they're very comfortable. Just recently I've been thinking more and more about a natural delivery, but who knows how it will end up. I like the idea of being able to move around and use the jacuzzi tub at the new hospital. Speaking of, I got a sneak peak on Saturday, which was incredible! It's more like a hotel than a hospital. I'm so excited that I will get to deliver there.

Speaking of delivering, his nursery furniture will be delivered on Wednesday! We cannot wait to get it and have his room all set up and ready for him to come home. Hopefully they deliver it early enough in the day that we have some time to get it decorated a bit before birth class. Otherwise, I guess there's always Thursday.
