And, here's what's going on in there...
Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and he weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)
We also started our birth classes last Wednesday night. Our instructor is great and the class, for being 2 hours, went by fairly quickly. It was a lot of basic information that I already knew, but it's good to hear someone else talk about it, instead of just reading about it. Plus, it's been really good for Dan and I to learn things together. Plus, the class ended with a massage! Our second class is tonight and we're looking forward to it.
And, DJ's final day of school is today! He's only got a half day and then it's summer and Junior year! Can you believe it? Time flies. Needless to say he's very excited for summer break and to go see his mom and brother and sister in Vegas... he leaves in one week.
