On Tuesday morning we then met with Tom and Kurt to go over the findings. Tom said he was very encouraged by the panel and didn't hear anything he didn't expect to hear. The overall gist was that 3 out of 5 people who listened to the morning show when the former team was there still listen to us and like us. The other 2 out of 5 are still flipping, including us, trying to find a place in the mornings. But, overall, they said they liked us, just needed to get to know us better. Makes sense. They really like a lot of our contests and games and bits we do, which is good. It's nice inspiration to give people a little better glimpse into our lives and who we are. Shouldn't be too tough to do, it just takes more planning and effort. And that was just Monday and Tuesday!
Wednesday after work we went and read to kids at Indian Hill Elementary as part of Read Across America Week. Dan read to 2nd graders and I read to fifth graders. I chose my favorite book t read to kids, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and they selected a fun book for Dan. He got done before I did, so he came to my classroom to help me finish up with questions. They gave us sweet thank you cards and a school mug filled with chocolate, which did not last long at all! Thursday after work we were invited to read at Black Elk Elementary where our friend Kelly teaches second grade. We each read to two 2nd grade classes. The kids were chanting Dan's, then my name when we walked in, which was cute!
Friday was the build up to our first live broadcast at Crane Coffee for our Crane Coffee World Tour! We got there a little before 5 a.m., got our laptops and rundown set and then enjoyed GREAT coffee, mini muffins and doing our show from a live location where listeners stopped by throughout the morning to say hi, spin the prize wheel and register for some great prizes.

Our first one was a success. It's always great to meet your audience face to face. We also did our two live contests with listeners at the coffee shop, instead of over the phone, so that was fun too. The show flew by and before we knew it, it was 9 a.m. and time to get back to the station. We had a lot to catch up and it was 12 p.m. before we got out of the station and home for a well deserved nap! Maddie came to nap with us, but first, Dan put her in a T-shirt, which she didn't seem to mind too much, even though it was inside out.
The evening was spent with a quiet dinner together and some TV watching. DJ was back in Lincoln and didn't get home until we had almost finished "A Beautiful Mind." It was a very interesting movie, I had never seen it before. We found out the girls won a close one and are headed back to Lincoln tonight for the championship! DJ said Friday night's game was a buzzer beater -- very exciting!Today we're doing a remote at one of the movie theaters in town and then having Kelly and Bryon over for dinner. Dan's making his delicious Bar-b-q Chicken salad and we're going to do some Wii bowling -- since real bowling is probably out of the question being with child and all. We're really looking forward to having them! It's been a bright spot through a very busy, stressful week.
