Happy Thanksgiving!

It's only 2 o'clock and we're already fat and happy! But -- let me back up to last night before we get into that!

Wednesday night Dan and I emceed a tree lighting event in Papillion. It was a lot of fun and a good turn out, but very cold. Santa came up on stage and we sang some Christmas songs! It was wonderful! Much different than our Christmas' past in Madison where it was politically incorrect to celebrate Christmas. Yuck. Do not miss those 25 square miles that are truly surrounded by reality. Here's a few pictures from last night.

After the tree lighting we headed back to the warmth of our home, made some hot cocoa, brined our turkey and watched most of "Fred Clause." Then, to bed!

We were up by 8 this morning, popped the turkey into the oven and then got started on some Christmas decorating, since our weekend is so booked. Snowball enjoyed a nice cat nap...

DJ and Maddie were enjoying each other's company...

When all of the sudden our turkey cooked a bit faster than expected... about an hour and a half...

so we rushed to get the rest of the meal prepared. DJ helped me with the deviled eggs and Dan did the rest.

Then, it was meal time! Wow - what a feast! Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls stuffing and deviled eggs! Mmmmm.

After dinner settled, we enjoyed some apple pie and football. Also, DJ helped me decorate the tree -- now every thing's ready!

And, here's our first Nebraska ornament.

And the PEACE stocking holders my folks sent me for my b-day.

Now all that's left is putting the lights on the one tree in our front yard and our house! Such a wonderful day with plenty of left overs!

Tonight we're emceeing the BIG Holiday Lights Festival in Omaha where thousands of people kick off the holiday season with the lighting of more than a million lights in the city's downtown! Wish we could just remain comatose, but it's good for us and the station.

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
