We're bummed he can't be here with us, but we he's having fun playing ball and learning his team's new playbook! Since he can't be here, we'll just write him a birthday song! This one's for you Deeeeeeeeej.... "Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear DJ, Happy Birthday to YOU!" And many more...
In other news... we've been really enjoying our summer! The kids have been watching a lot of movies, playing at the park or going to the public pool! Saturday we took Becca and Alex to their first Madison Mallards game!
The Mallards are a team made up of college all stars from around the country who play here every summer. The games are a ton of fun! The announcer is great and every game, in between innings, they do some fun games and contests! Our favorite was where two guys had to put their foreheads on the top of the bat, spin around 10 times, and run to 3rd base! VERY comical!
Here's Dan and the kids! Last year he got a Mallards jersey with his name on the back and the number... 96.3... for Star Country! Pretty cool!
And... the highlight of the games was former American Idol **NON** Superstar William Hung was the "entertainment!" He sang "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" during the 7th inning stretch and then... as an encore... sang his most noteworthy song "She Bangs!" It was awesome!
The Mallards didn't do too well, but they did end up putting some runs on the board at the end of the game. We left in the 8th... because it was past someones bed time!
