Our date night began with a trip our grocery store. Neither Dan nor I have the best knowledge of ingredients, so upon arriving in the produce section I thoroughly embarrassed him by asking 2 high school boys (they were employees) where we could find shallots and fresh tarragon! Dan looked as though he wanted to find a hole and climb in, he gave me that "I can't believe you're embarressing me like this" look! I know if I'd of just sent him to the store, he'd of just come home with a frozen pizza and told me they were out of those strange ingredients! BUT.. in the end, we found out they WERE out of shallots, so we used an onion instead, AND we found our fresh tarragon. :-)
Once home we worked together to combine all the ingredients and make the dish. Cook time was 30 minutes and then it was time to try our masterpiece! Unanimously, we decided it wasn't as good as it should of been (we bought biscuits instead of pastry stuff), so we're going to try again tonight with the leftovers! I'm getting ready to go to the store and find "puffy pastry mix." If new and improved we will be sure to pass along the recipe!
After making our way through the sub-par cooking experience, we washed it down with some ice cream (can't mess that up) and a movie! We watched Night At the Museum. I really liked it a lot, but fell asleep 30 minutes before it was over. Dan kept laughing and laughing and wondering why I wasn't finding any of it funny... NOW he knows!
