Here's what our patio looked like about a week and a half ago. (See, I was taking pictures, just not blogging). We've had 2 spring storms that have brought about 5" of snow. But, the best part about the spring snow storms is that most of it's melted within 24 hours when the sun comes out and warms things up! Here's snowy enjoying the snow.

Isn't she a cutie patootie? Let's see. What else has the Arthur clan been up to?
DJ finished his 3rd quarter at West High School on a brighter note. He's bringing up his grade in Spanish and working like the dickens to do the same in Biology and Geometry. We know he can do it! He's also started playing with the Jazz Band after school on Wednesdays and is part of the Christian Club, which meets on Thursdays during lunch.
The house has been a bit quieter and emptier. We took DJ to the airport on Saturday so he could fly to Vegas for spring break. The lucky kid! He and his brother and sister happen to have spring break the same week, so that works out even better for all of them. He made a ton of plans with his family and friends before he even left. He says he'll be busy playing video games, watching movies and not shivering!
Dan and I have stepped up our work out routine in the last few days and I've started my training for the Capitol View Triathlon coming up in June.
The other day we rode 25 minutes and then ran a mile... that was tougher than I thought it would be... but it turns out I've only run 3 times since my 1/2 marathon. I'm really excited for the triathlon because DJ, Becca and Alex will be out here and my parents are coming out for a long weekend too! I am going to have the biggest cheering section EVER! Plus, I think I'm going to see if Dan will bring the video camera just for fun! We're still planning the time my parents will be here because it works out that I'm doing the triathlon and Dan's birthday is the very next day. He turns the big 3-9, but would probably like to remind you (if he were writing this) that I turn the big 3-0 in November. Ugh!
I should also mention, we've started running again to get in shape for Crazy Legs, which is in about 2 1/2 weeks. It's my favorite run in Madison and I've done it every year I've lived here thus far! It's an 8K that starts in downtown and is a fund raiser for the UW. Therefore, Bucky Badger, athletes and the school band cheer you on from the start and you head through downtown, toward Lake Mendota and through campus, ending at Camp Randall. Very cool!
So, other than that, Dan and I have been focusing our attention toward MDA Productions. We have a meeting with a bride and groom today who are getting married in August. We're also about finished with our first wedding video. We have all the pieces together, just have to give them the once over before we burn it to DVD for them. We are really proud of the video and think it's really good for our first one. We've also received all our deposits thus far on the 5 weddings we've booked, so we were able to buy a 2nd camera, instead of having to rent one. Plus, now all our packages on the website are for 2 camera shoots only. This makes the video better and the editing process much better for Dan and I. In fact, we're getting ready to re-vamp the site as best we can. We're really trying to be good about spending only what we have, not on what we hope to have! So, back to the camera, we just got it in the mail yesterday!

Smile, you're on Candid Camera!

All smiles for us, well me! We just love the camera... and so does our 4-pawed Princess.
But, she didn't settle in the box for long, she traded that for snuggling up on her daddy's black jacket... go figure!
It came on it's own, so we need to buy a camera bag and extra battery or two and we'll be set for a while. We're debating about whether to buy another tripod or not. We have some time. Our first paid wedding is May 10th in Milwaukee. We're really excited about it and ready to make the improvements and adjustments from our last wedding to this one. I think this next one will be twice as good... a tough feat... considering this first one isn't too bad.
After our meeting today we're headed onto the bike paths for a ride around town and then Dan has a walk through for a shoot we're doing for Clear Channel next Thursday. That's paying off pretty well, our advertising is all over their 6 stations right now, and hopefully we'll at least book one wedding from it.
More to come...
The Arthurs
