This is the longest I've ever gone without posting... we've been THAT busy! Lots going on with work... I mean the kind of weeks that feel like a month at a time... the kind of week's where by Tuesday afternoon you can't believe it's not the end of the week. But, we've been having some fun too.
So here we go... getting you all caught up on what the 4 of us have been up to. Jackson is still a champion eater! We thought after introducing fruits we would have a finicky vegetable eater... but not the case... he just loves both now! We made the mistake of stuffing him too full of bananas... so we've backed off since those stopped him up... and are rotating those through with his favorites peaches and pears. He's also tried grapes in his infant feeder. The reviews are mixed, so we're going to try again. He has been eating Oatmeal regularly and drinking 3-4 ounces of water a day. We cannot believe he's already fitting into some 12 mos. clothing! Sometimes we let him drink out of our cups, which he prefers to his sippy cup and bottle. He's napping wonderfully for us! He takes a nice, long afternoon nap with us... although he sleeps in his swing still... sometimes a little cockeyed... but he generally sleeps 2-3 hours in the afternoon! Gotta love that! And, he's now consistantly sleeping 8-9 hours at night! Woo hoo!
He's also cut a second tooth, so he has both bottom front teeth. Considering he's been drooling like crazy lately, we're pretty sure he's getting ready to cut another one. He can sit up on his own like a champion now and is reaching for EVERYTHING! He definitely has some favorite toys, like his ball (which he throws), his dumbell rattle and Mickey Mouse. AND, apparently there's a gene for that... he LOVES the remote control. Like father like son! He's so incredibly alert and seems to get more alert by the week, if not the day. He's rolling over a lot more and is starting to show interest in trying to be mobile. (Guess Mom and Dad better stop procrastinating on baby proofing the house.) And seriously, why do we have SO MANY stairs? The inside of our home is going to look like a prison. Jackson's also giving us kisses said his first words! He regularly says "dada" and "daddy" now! It's so cute and as you can imagine, Dad is VERY proud! He is also turning into such a ham... we just love his little personality that is shining through... he is such a happy bambino! In fact, one of the daycare ladies told us they had to quiet him down the other day because he was laughing so much he was waking up the other babies! We love his smiles and giggles... sweetest sight and sound in the world! We also started swim lessons with our little bug! He loved the water in AZ, but wasn't as crazy about swimming for lessons at the Y. I think he was overwhelmed by the number of kids and the water was COLD! But, he's got 4 more lessons and hopefully he'll learn something if not just to be comfortable in the water.
DJ's been keeping UBER busy too. Between band and school he's hardly home these days. He's in Jazz band and also made the pit orchestra, both of which practice after school. Then, they play at basketball games and he hangs with his friends a lot too. He's no longer employed at Godfather's, so he's in the process of trying to find new work. He applied at a few places, but hasn't heard back. Most of all he says he wants the Blockbuster job. He may have to go fill out more applications. DJ says his class load is pretty easy this semester and that all is going well. He's in Spanish, English and Biology. He's rockin' Spanish too... says sometimes his teacher tells him to put his hand down and let someone else answer!
Dan and I have also been extra busy with work. We're putting together an idea for the company, which will hopefully help build our brand and get us A LOT more exposure! More to come. On top of that, we've had some endorsement opportunities, lots of remotes, (4 last week) charity appearances, fundraisers and oh yeah, our regular show, raising a baby and a teenager and trying to enjoy ourselves as a couple! We did have a wonderful Valentine's Day. We took that Monday off work to enjoy a three day weekend. Sunday night we enjoyed a 2 hour dinner at Kona Grill. Then, Monday we spent the morning with Jackson, dropped him later at daycare and then enjoyed a movie and lunch along with some shopping before heading home. It was the BEST day! We also went out on a double date with a guy we work with and his wife. That was a riot. We were having so much fun at dinner, we almost skipped the movie. We're getting ready to do it again in a few weeks. Plus, we went out with a new couple last weekend. Dinner and a show at the comedy club. That was FUN too! Also last Sunday we went to the Oscar Night Gala to benefit our local Alzheimer's Chapter, which I am now a board member of, and had a wonderful time. I even bid on a silent auction item... and WON! First time I've won! Hooray. It was great night out and we got dressed to the 9s.
We're hoping March will be a little slower for us, but already this week we've been jam packed busy again. We interviewed Christina Perri in studio yesterday morning and several other celebs over the phone and today we're headed out to read to 3rd graders as part of the Read Across America celebration of Dr. Seuss's Birthday. Tomorrow night I'm missing Bunco Club (which I'm totally bummed about) to go to Mama Mia (which I am totally excited about). Dan's got a remote Friday... then nothing else work related this weekend. A double date with Bryon and Kelly... and that's IT! A little R & R will be nice.
Thanks for checking our blog... we'll try to be better about posting.
