LOVE us a 3-day Weekend!

The older we get, the faster life flies by. Jackson is already 6 weeks old and sleeping 3-7 hours at a time at night! It's really been amazing... if you'd asked us two weeks ago when I thought he might sleep more than 2 hours straight, I would have said NEVER! The gas medicine and me cutting out dairy has really seemed to help with his tummy too, so all is well in the world.

Our three day weekend was wonderful! Friday after Dan got off work we had lunch at Pepperjax with Jackson. He was a perfect angel in the restaurant... awake and not fussy! Then, that night Dan and I shared some wine and good times at the house together while DJ worked and then went to the football game. We had such a good time together just laughing and laughing. It was nice to have some time for ourselves. Jackson must have known we were having a nice time because he slept from 6-11:30 before waking up for a feeding. Saturday Dan had 2 remotes, but got to meet a former Husker QB and was given a Husker shirt and hat... not too shabby. That night I went down to Kelly's to catch some of the Husker game and hang out. But, I was home early and we were in bed before 10.

Sunday we tried to take Jackson to church with us. We had a visiting band play the opening worship, which he loved, but once anyone started talking, he started crying. We did find the nursing mom's room, which was the size of a closet and met some of the child care people, so eventually we'll got that route, when he's a little older. Until then, it's internet services for me. The rest of the day was very relaxing. We had Bryon, Kelly, Cody and Jaden over for a bar-b-q, which was a lot of fun. The weather was down right perfect... the first round of brats on the grill... not so much!

Needless to say, Dan and Bryon made a quick trip to Hyvee for another couple of packages of brats. Those turned out MUCH better!

Dan's off today and sleeping in after taking the baby shift again last night. He really is such a saint for letting me get rest. I always feel so much better going into the week. We have no plans today, other than relaxing together and watching football, maybe a movie. Oh yeah, and that dreaded laundry that's piled up. One of my bestest friends, Carly, is coming to visit tomorrow from New York! We cannot wait to see her and introduce her to Jackson... we haven't seen her since our wedding... too long! She's staying through Friday, which is wonderful. Then, my brother comes out the following Tuesday, followed by my folks and Dan's mom and brother Mike! We are so excited to have so many visitors! And, they're coming at a great time now that we're through the roughest part with Jackson and we're in a much better sleeping groove. We feel so blessed to have so many people come visit.
