Michelle here... the whole time after getting both contacts in his eyes all DJ could say was, "Woah, that's cool!" And, "I can see things so clearly, everything's so clear!" It was really neat to witness. This was our third attempt at the contact thing. We had a different optometrist who seemed to have a bit more patience. He got the right contact in DJ's eye, and then let DJ practice trying to get the left one in. It took him a few tries, but he was steady and cool the whole time, he didn't even seem nervous or frustrated. So, after probably a dozen tries, he got it in! It was all cheers in the doctor's office and he could even read 2o/2o! The doctor gave us some cleaner and a spare set of contacts in case he runs into any problems and we're scheduled back in a week for a follow up. DJ's so excited, I know he'll thrive with them.
I fought back the urge to take pictures the whole time, so finally after our Costco dogs, pizza slice and Berry Sundae, I finally got to snap these... first Dan being silly...

Then DJ...

How bout that... no glasses. Here's him "boo-ing" his glasses.
He looks like a whole new kid! Plus, this weekend he and Dan are heading to the barber for a trim, so we'll have to update you on their new good looks!
Other than that... Dan and I have been using our new editing software... Adobe Premier... and are loving the editing process. My friend Kelly came over to give me some added pointers and together we figured out how to use the mult-camera feature which has been a HUGE help! I just taught Dan tonight and we're really excited about how much easier this will be! It's an amazing help.
Tonight is pasta and a movie night... but since we substituted the Costco dogs and such, we're just settling in now for a movie. We're getting ready to watch "Bewitched" DJ with his new contacts and all. Then, after the movie, I'm going to help him learn how to take them out of his eye. He won't be wearing them to school tomorrow, since he has to build up to wearing them all day, so he'll practice again when he gets home. Then, Thursday just might be the big first day... we'll keep you posted.
And, how could I end this without a picture of my cutie patootie of a kitty...

Since everyone now has a computer in the house, Snowy thought she deserved one too...
