Saturday morning, after work, I attended the "All Dressed Up" event as a Fairy Godmother. Basically, the Junior League of Madison collects gently used dresses and gives them out for free to high school girls to wear for prom. They also get donated shoes, jewelry and accessories and offer some minor alterations. It's a really neat event and is opened to all high school girls with a valid ID. This is my second year volunteering and it was a lot more fun. My first girl was with her mom and looking for a black or blue floor length dress. Since we couldn't find many she liked, we broadened our search. She has red hair and was apprehensive about trying on a champagne colored dress, but it ended up being "the one!" She looked stunning in it!

My next group was 2 girls and their mom along with a friend. One of the girls was a size 20, but we didn't figure that out until she tried a few 16s and 18s. Having failed our first attempt, we went back to the rack to see what was there in a size 20. Not much. So, we finally found a beautiful, blue dress, but nothing else remotely pretty. I told her we should go try it on, because it could be "the one!" So, she did and looked beautiful, absolutely beautiful. We took it to the seamstresses for minor alterations, mainly fixing the hook and eye and the zipper track. After she got changed back into her clothes, she had the biggest smile on her face, gave me a BIG hug and a BIG thank you! It made my whole day!
While I was at the event, Dan got DJ up extra early and made him a yummy breakfast of eggs and bacon. After that, they went downstairs to throw the football around a bit. By the time I got home they were back upstairs and resting. While I took a nap, they headed to the "Bike-O-Rama" event to buy a tire pump for our bikes, since we put that off last season. After I woke up Dan and I went to the gym to play some racquetball. (This is our gym, it's HUGE! When Dan first came out to visit and saw how big it was, he later blogged that it was like a castle filled with treadmills)!

We had a really good first game, I barely won 15-12. We played two more games and then exhausted, headed to Wal Mart to do our grocery shopping. Since we're going back on the South Beach Diet tomorrow, we decided to have a bad for you pizza dinner topped off with ice cream. It was wonderful! We also watched Meet the Parents, which was very funny. In fact, on Tuesday, we're going to watch Meet the Faulker's. Today after work, I met my girlfriend Jess for coffee. We had a great conversation that had to be cut shorter than usual so I could come get the boys and we could head downtown for the St. Patrick's Day Parade. When I got home they were still catching their breaths from going to the park and playing some serious basketball. I guess they had some really good games and each won a few. Dan couldn't quit raving about how good DJ's got at basketball!

The parade was packed! We heard people talking about how this was a busy year because of the great weather, which was our motivation for going. It felt great to be outside, the boys wore shorts and me a sundress with a little jacket.
The also wore green so they wouldn't get pinched. I didn't wear green, but brought my lucky Shamrock Sunglasses which I promptly broke 5 minutes after we arrived. So much for looking festive!
We stayed for an hour of the parade and then went to get the boys' haircuts. They look great, but there's no more juice in the camera, so we'll have to show off their haircuts later! Then, we went to grab a bite to eat at Boston's, which was delicious. We used our Bucky Book coupons and saved $25 today!
That's all from Mad-town for now...
