Rollin' Right Along!

We couldn't be any happier with how MDA Productions is progressing! As of today we've booked 4 weddings, 1 interview, have a meeting with a bride/groom at the end of the month which looks promising and we also are set up to meet with a retirement community who is looking for some video work. Dan and I are just amazed at how fast this is all going and how much business we've been able to generate, even though our website has only been up since the end of November!

As you saw, we shot our first wedding on February 7th! Jake and Laura were such a wonderful couple, we really felt great about doing their wedding for free as they were just so kind and great together. I almost teared up at the ceremony it was so sweet. I've got to admit, it makes me miss my own wedding and wish Dan and I could do it all again ourselves every year. But, this is a fun way to rekindle that magic. Laura's mom wrote us a really kind email:

Dear Michelle and Dan,

I want to thank you for the beautiful job you did on Laura and Jake’s highlight video. It is unbelievably touching and oh so romantic—including the choice of music. The shots you chose and how you wove them together to tell the story builds the excitement and feeling of anticipation beautifully. The way the shots are framed – Dad and Laura through the wedding party, entering the reception through the flowers – are just wonderful. You guys are extremely talented! I can’t wait to see the DVD...thanks so much for all your hard work.

In Christ,
Barbara Johnson

Those wonderful words were followed up by a phone call from the groom. Jake told Dan how wonderful the work we did was and told him it brought him to tears. So sweet. They are going to continue to be a reference for us and also give us a testimonial for the website! Everything's working out so beautifully!

And, some other exciting news, Dan and I are doing some video work for CC Madison when artists come to town and also to highlight the different morning teams. Instead of money exchanging hands, we're going to do some trade with them for advertising! Basically we're going to get a web banner on all 6 of their stations, some internet video/voice advertising and periodically some on air ads! Dan and I are going to write those up (we just edited a 15 second video clip last night) and then Dan's going to voice the ads! That, and Google, should be able to generate even more interest in our biz!

So, other than all the work stuff, we've been enjoying our daily lives too! DJ's had a few more tests and is scoring solid A's and B's! Most days he comes home from school with a big smile on his face saying he had a great day at school! I'm really glad the transition is going so well for him, it's like he didn't even miss a beat. He's also on track to score a solo part in his next band concert which would be in a month or so.

Tuesday for our spaghetti and a movie night we watched "Wedding Planner," which only Dan had seen. It was good, but predictable at which point Dan summed up ALL chick flicks! But, it was enjoyable nonetheless. This weekend we don't really have a lot planned, just some hanging out and quality family time! I think the boys are going to go get their hair cut and we're finally going to remember to get DJ a desk at the UW Swap! They're open limited hours, on odd days, so it's been difficult to plan with our schedules, but it looks like Friday's the day!

Oh yeah, and the boys (and sometimes me) have been doing 30 push ups a night so we can build muscle and trim down! -- Watch out Lauren, Dan's gonna take you on the next push up contest, which might just have to be your wedding day! :-)
