I truly think I just made one of the best purchases of my life. After paying, I said, "Wow, I think that's the best bargain I've ever had!"
I worked the morning show on Friday. I got off at 11:30 and met my girlfriend Jess at the little coffee shop near work where we often meet. We talked and talked and talked and talked and then she came with me to the UW Swap to get DJ a desk. Dan and I had spotted the desk back in December, but put off buying it. So, I went back to the spot it where it had been located, and to our luck, there were more than 6 left. We found one of the employees to find out what I needed to do to buy it and get it in the truck. I said, "When we were here in December, the desk was priced at $5, is that still the price?" To which the guy said, "No, now we're selling the 2 for $5 or one for $2.50!" I was stunned! So, I payed the $2.64 with tax and was exhilarated! What a deal. It's a sturdy, wood, 3-drawer desk that we found out in the loading zone also came with a bookshelf attachment that has a built in light! Wow! All this for under $3. Instead of telling DJ when he got home from school, I waited for his Dad to get home from his remote, because I wanted Dan to be in on the fun (and I didn't want to carry it). They walked down to the car for DJ to find the desk. They made two trips to haul up the pieces and DJ was all smiles!!

Once both pieces were in his room, it didn't take him long to put it together and get it set up the way he wants it! He was so excited, he even took this next picture... all on his own!

And then of course, I had to take this one...

And, one of the cat...
Snowy didn't quite know what to make of all the activity, but she sure looks cute!
Today has been a really mellow start to the weekend. I got home, hung with Dan and DJ for a bit and then enjoyed a 3 hour nap! They did a heavy duty work out together while I was sleeping and now Dan's getting ready to take Deeej to Burger King so he can use more of his gift card. We were trying to sell him on the yummy chili and corn bread we were planning on making... but he's got his heart set on BK tonight! Once they're back, we're going to watch a movie, play a game of Scrabble and then I'll probably be back in bed by 10. I've worked the AM shift since Friday and will through Tuesday, so I think my body knows it needs its sleep. Plus, it was busier day than usual at work today as we were under a Winter Storm Warning through my shift... nearly 7" of snow... and we all think it looks pretty. Guess that happens when you get a nice, pro-longed break in the heavier snowfall!

We hope you too are enjoying the weekend...
