We also tasted some traditional Limoncello, a liquour straight from Italy. (Ok, made here, but a traditional, authentic Italian drink). It was a little sweet, but nice to try! We fit right in with the folks at the club and even filled out an application form... I think we're going to be members! (Thank goodness I'm marrying an Italian)! But seriously, they meet once a month and eat and drink... how bad can that be!? After the judging and gabbing, we had dinner at the downstairs restaurant with Christine (one of my co-workers) her blind date and another couple. It was a blast! Our cheeks hurt from laughing so much and the pizza Dan and I shared was fantastic! They were all headed to a "We hate winter" party, but Dan and I ducked out since I had to work the next morning. But, it was a GREAT time!
Snowy's still alive and cute as ever! Just thought I'd show you her preciousness! Anyway, back to the post! The rest of the weekend was pretty low key, some working out and staying in. Monday night however, we did get all gussied up and went to a little Italian restaurant that's a stones throw from the appartment. It was delicious and had half priced appetizers! Then, we came home and looked at baby pictures of Dan (oh so cute) and watched that new "The Hard Truth" or something like that, show. It was such an awful episode. Dan and I were groaning at this woman who admitted on national televison that she'd rather be married to someone else and has had an affair. THEN, she loses ALL THE MONEY because she thought she was a good person, but the lie detector she took ahead of time proved that she really didn't think she was. OMG! It was heart wrenching to watch. Like watching a train wrek, we couldn't NOT watch!
So, today Dan is meeting with the Army recruiter to see if there are any MOS's he'd be interested in if he were to re-join the Army. Mainly, a broadcaster position. We are ONLY entertaining the idea at the moment, no difinitive decisions have been made, but we'll keep you posted on that. AND.. Dan starts his part time job DJing weddings. He's training on Saturday night. Since he doesn't have his own equipment, he'll be working for a company who actually pays pretty decently. Most gigs are about 6 hours and he'll be working until midnight or so, while I'm sleeping anyway because of my early schedule. He's looking forward to it, which is GREAT! He hasn't done it in about 8 years, but is a natural on the mic, so he will be just AWESOME!
Ok.. well it's down to the coffee shop in our building to put some quality time in with my video lecturers! Next time you hear from us, Dan will be doing the typing! (how's that for keeping you "tuned" in)?
