Maternity Photos

So, last Thursday we went and took some maternity photos in downtown Elkhorn, which is on the outskirts of Omaha and a charming little town. I had wanted to do outdoor photos, instead of using a studio, because I like the more natural setting. We found a photographer who was running a special to help flood victims in Nashville and liked her work, so we booked her and took some photos. She was great and we had a lot of fun at the shoot. Here's some of our fave's.

We just love the photos and are so glad we took them! And, if you looked closely enough at the one where we're holding blocks, you now know the name we've chosen. Jackson Charles Arthur. Jackson, because we like it and it's strong, plus we like it shortened to Jack too. And, Charles is after my grandfather who past away a few years ago, who we miss very dearly, but who Dan never got to meet.

Hope you enjoyed the photos!

Here's what's going on inside my belly at 35 Weeks.

Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

The doctor says he heartbeat tells her he's happy and that he's now measuring a little bit ahead of schedule, so we'll keep an eye on that. (Did I mention Becca was 10 lbs. and Dan was 10.5)? He's still moving all the time and I'm still enjoying his movements and kicks. Saturday I think I started to nest, getting everything in order in his room, packing our bag and cleaning today. I also have a strong urge to pick up my cross stitching... but haven't yet. We wrap up our birth class tonight with a make up class we missed while my folks are in town and then I think we're just about ready for Jackson to come. In fact, last night as Dan and I were watching TV he looked over at me and said, "I'm ready to meet my baby boy, ready for this to be over!" Be careful, he just might get his wish... my mom and both aunts apparently all delivered early.

Other than that it's been a great weekend... more on that on my next post with pictures...
