By now you probably know the post on April 1st was an April Fools joke -- Gotchya! (Well, Dad and Buzz)!
We didn't get snuck in early for an ultrasound, but actually went at our scheduled time on Friday at 11. This was great timing since we had our live broadcast at the Crane this morning, so the morning flew by and we barely had time to remember and get anxious about our ultrasound. In fact, it wasn't until we were driving back to the station to get a few things done that we started to get anxious and nervous. It's a big deal to find out if every thing's going well inside your tummy! We finished up at the station and headed to the doctor's office around 10:30. Dan's eye even started twitching he was so nervous. But, I was more focused on trying to keep my bladder from exploding since I had to drink 24 ounces of water -- and hold it until about 11:10. That was rough!
But, we got in a little early, Dan me and my mom and got right to it! It didn't take long before we got a great picture of the baby (and his boy parts) since I am almost 22 weeks! It was absolutely breathtaking and amazing to see the baby moving and kicking. The tech said he was very active and my mom joked that eventually it will probably feel like I have a whole marching band in there the way he's moving! We also got a great view of his heart, his brain, his spine and even a good glimpse of his face. But in the end, there was no mistaking the boy parts! (To which Dan said, "That's my boy)! And the best news, when we met with the doctor, it appears as everything is going well so far. All the development looks good and normal! We cannot ask for much more than that. And, so cool, they took video of the baby moving around and gave us a copy! Technology is an amzing thing. Our tech also printed us out 6 of the pictures, which I'm posting here.
So, now Dan and I are tasked with finding a name. We have our girl name all picked out, so wouldn't you know we'd have a boy! We have a few favorites, but will probably spend a few more weeks mulling them over to pick our favorite. It's so exciting! After the ultrasound we all went to lunch at Sam & Louies to celebrate the good news.
After that we all headed home for a nap.

After that Dan and Bryon went for a 20 mile ride around Lake Zorinsky while mom and I headed to the furniture store to look for cribs and gliders. We found some great cribs and also got some good advice and information. The sales guy recommended a guide book for buying baby stuff, so after that we swung by the bookstore to pick it up. We're going to look through it tomorrow to see what advice/suggestions it may have and also brand recommendations for everything from cribs to car seats to strollers. Then, it's back at some shopping again. We got home around 7 and Dan had already fired up the grill and dinner about ready. We cooked up filet for us, DJ and his friend Ian and enjoyed baked potatoes and a salad. It was a great meal. Then we laid low and are now headed off to bed. Dan's up with Maddie watching a movie and since Ian's spending the night, they are downstairs hanging out. Plus, they are now officially on spring break.
Tis' going to be a good weekend! More to come.

Hi Michelle! (It's Andrea, from KDRV)It's been a LONG time! I was told about your blog awhile back, I think from Jenny, and just checked in recently to see how you were doing... gosh! Congrats! What an amzing time in your life! I hope it's everything you always wanted it to be! We had a little girl last year, and it is by far the most amazing experience ever! If you are looking for baby advice.. check out the book Baby Bargins. It's worth every penny! It was our bible while were researching different brands and comparing things. Congrats again! I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes as smoothly as the first part!
