Lauren's Wedding!

The most highly anticipated event of the fall went off without a hitch! We flew into AZ for Lauren's wedding on Tuesday evening. While at the Omaha airport, going up the escalator, Dan recognized and quickly high fived Bill Walton. For those of you, like me, he was on the 1977 Championship Blazer's team, then played for the Celtics and is now a commentator. Dan was so excited! Once upstairs and out of his view, Dan proceeded to jump up and down 3 times, like he won the lottery. It was very cute.

When we left Omaha, it was 50 degrees, when we arrived in AZ, it was still in the 80s... WONDERFUL! My folks picked us up at the airport and we headed first to Kari's so I could pick up my bridesmaid dress and then home for dinner. My folks cooked up some salmon and veggies, which we enjoyed and then headed off to bed. The next day Dan and I went for a run and then hit the pool. Very nice! Then we cleaned up, had lunch and my mom and I went shopping while Dan and my Dad put together a new dresser for their new room addition. We had a nice time at the mall, even picked up a new dress shirt for Dan and my mom got a cute Coach bag, which she is now contemplating returning.
That night we met up with Lauren, Travis, Kari and Kelly for dinner at my favorite restaurant, Z-Tejas.
We enjoyed a wonderful meal on the patio and then spent some time at Lauren's apartment and met her cutie patootie dob, JP.

The next day we hit the pool, then Kari and I went and got pedi's and mani's for the wedding. Then we got all readied up for the big rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.

The venue was lovely! It's a golf course and country club in the foothills of Gilbert. We all practiced how/where to walk and got the lay of the land before the big day!

The rehearsal went well and then we headed to Buca De Bepo for dinner. First they played the slide show, which Dan and I made for them as a wedding gift, which they just loved!

Dinner was fantastic and then we headed back to the hotel for Lauren's final night as a single lady!

Then, the wedding day arrived! We did hair and make up and hung out at Brandi's house all morning. It was a lovely, somewhat relaxing day.

By 1 we headed to the ceremony site and took a whole bunch of pictures! Lauren looked stunning and is going to LOVE her pictures!

Then, 3 o'clock arrived and we headed down the aisle, not a cloud in sight! Her Pappa walked her down the aisle and gave her away.

It was a short and sweet ceremony that brought a few tears to my eyes! I'm so happy for them and glad their day turned out so well! We took pictures afterward and then headed to the reception site, which was at Brandi's house.

It was beautiful. We had a wonderful time and wish them nothing but the best!

The happy couple is now in Sedona, enjoying a short honeymoon before they head to Italy next year!

The next morning we came home to snow. I must say, it's actually very pretty, but would be much prettier in November.
