A Week With My Folks!

I cannot believe how quickly my parent's visit flew by! They got in Tuesday evening and left Sunday... such a blur of fun! The night they got in we showed them the house, Maddie and then Dan treated them to his famous pasta, of which my dad had thirds once again! It was wonderful to all have dinner together and catch up.

Wednesday after work, a work out and a nap we headed to Boys Town to take the audio tour. That was very interesting and lended itself to a few photos.

That night we headed into downtown to look around and have dinner in the Old Market. We were very impressed. The weather was just gorgeous! We got a patio table and enjoyed some yummy Italian food at Vivace! Then, Thursday after work and a nap we went to DJ's football game in Bellevue. We won, but it was a good game, made even better by the two hefty ladies sitting a few rows ahead of us. They were hooting and hollering and gave us PLENTY of material for the next morning's show! DJ got in for a few series... he's #5.

The next morning my folks got up bright and early with us, 3:30, and we all headed into the studio. Here's what it looks like in the daylight hours.

I think they truly enjoyed themselves. My dad took pictures and my mom read the Wall Street Journal. Both were happy!

They accompanied us to our remote Friday afternoon, then it was a big, long nap for all of us. That night we filled the house with smoke as I attempted to cook filet's on the stove with Olive Oil! Wow, did they ever turn out fantastic! Seared on the top and medium rare on the inside... perfect! Saturday we went shopping, Dan and I each had a remote and then we went to our favorite pizza place to catch the first half of the Nebraska game. We were blowing them out of the water, so we headed home and enjoyed the evening. Sunday we had a pancake and egg breakfast, followed by a Star event and then dropped them at the airport. Sad to see them go.

Here is an updated picture of our growing girl... she's now 42.5 lbs!

A week has now passed. The chaos has continued. We had a great week at work and finished up a wedding we'd been procrastinating on. Now we're looking forward to some time off... heading to AZ for Lauren and Travis's wedding... can't wait! It's supposed to be in the 80s and 90s! Hooray! If you need me I'll be at the pool.
