An Emptier House

In what proved to be a long Sunday, we got the kids to Chicago's Midway Airport on time, were able to walk them to their gate and give them big hugs goodbye. But goodbye is never easy. We returned to Fitchburg to an emptier, quieter house, feeling down. \

So, since goodbye's aren't much fun, we'll talk about the time they were here! We can't believe they've already been here and gone. As you've already read, we had a ton of fun, especially playing the Play Station 2 game "Guitar Hero." They rock!!

And, I can't believe the kids didn't mention that we had "the best pizza ever" following a trip downtown and to the capitol building! Mmmm... mmmm! 2 Cardiac Arrest pizza's from Glass Nickel! The tree in the rotunda was gorgeous and very tall. We were all trying to figure out how they got it in there to begin with!

And of course, the capitol itself on the outside is ALWAYS a spectacular view!

And, Becca, me and Dan also baked some Christmas cookies! Dan and Becca made the dough, she and I rolled out the cookies and decorated them and Dan manned the oven to make sure NONE of the cookies came out over baked! Then, we ALL helped finish off the several plates of cookies! Becca and I even made enough to take into my work the next day! What fun!

We also made several trips to the snow, (which is just about gone now with all the rain and WARM temperatures) played several board games, (Clue, Taboo, Catch Phrase, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader) watched several movies, (including the Back To the Future trilogy) went to the coffee shop on the bottom floor and just had a GREAT time!

It's really hard to believe their time here is gone, but we are looking forward to having Becca back in the Spring and seeing all three at our wedding in June and then for the remainder of the summer in Madison!
